My name is Dan Weiss. I write humorous speculative fiction, dystopian, YA, and combinations of all three. I've been writing since I was five, I believe. Self-published some novels I sold at science fiction conventions. Edited and published The Rejected Quarterly, a journal for quality literature rejected five or more times.
My goals are to share my writing with people who will more likely have an affinity and understanding of my writing and are therefore more likely to offer helpful suggestions than the average person or even the average writer. I'm also interested in seeing what other speculative fiction writers are creating. I would like to be more or less traditionally published, but then again I want a lot of things that aren't realistic in the world I'm currently residing in. I agree to follow the rules of the forum. I found you by looking for interesting threads on the forum. Grew up in Los Angeles suburbia, currently live in rural northern CA, planning to move to Oregon. Still in the process of metamorphosing from a teacher into a novelist. Enjoy gardening and riding my e-mountain bike in the forest.
I'd like to join the discord server.

Hi, Dan! Welcome to the group! I've approved your membership, so you should be able to see all of the boards now.
Our winter marathon is currently ongoing, and we're about halfway through right now. Feel free to jump in next week if you'd like to submit something for critique. I'll PM you a link to the discord server.

Sorry, I'm not clear on how to submit something. Also, is the group continuing with the forum disappearing?

Sorry, I'm not clear on how to submit something. Also, is the group continuing with the forum disappearing? You can submit chapters on Monday at the beginning of the week. We will have more weeks on the forum, they just haven’t been posted yet (Week 7 will show up soon). We are currently on Week 6. Feel free to critique the works posted this week in preparation for next week. The forum isn’t going away; we had to move forums last year and that forum is gone. There aren’t any plans to get rid of this one.
