Name/Nickname: Grant Vincitore.
Types of speculative fiction you write: Science fiction, fantasy, horror, science fantasy, and mixtures of all of the aforementioned. I am mostly influenced by pulp writers of the early 20th century (Edgar Rice Burroughs, H. P. Lovecraft, Edmond Hamilton, Robert E. Howard, Lester Dent, etc) and their 19th century progenitors (Edgar Allan Poe, Jules Verne, H. G. Wells, Robert Louis Stevenson, Bram Stoker, etc).
How long have you been writing?: I've been writing off and on since childhood, but haven't published any fiction yet (although I've published nonfiction through a blog under a different name).
What are your goals for joining the group? Any publishing plans?: I have many story ideas that I want to polish into a good story and publish, but am hampered by a lack of anyone to critique my work. I also think that having other people to share my progress with would help "keep my feet to the fire" and give me more motivation to follow through on my writing goals.
As for publishing plans, my goal is to self-publish novels and perhaps some short story compilations (likely through Amazon), and to have my own website under my brand (which I have I have already named and created a logo for) which will have a store section (containing a complete catalogue of my published books and the links to where they can be bought) a story section (featuring short stories available for free to give potential customers a sample of my writing before they buy), and a blog section. I may also publish some of my stories elsewhere, depending on the situation.
Do you agree to follow all of the rules stated in the rules forum?: Yes.
How did you find us? Did another member refer you? I found out about you due to a recent comment by AZAli on a K. M. Weiland blog post.
Tell us a little about yourself! Any non-writing interests or hobbies you'd care to share?: My main hobbies are reading, watching movies and television, listening to music, and studying history (albeit in a narrow sort of way, focusing on particular eras and incidents that especially interest me).
Would you like to join the discord server as well? Yes.
