Name/Nickname: Justin
Types of speculative fiction you write: Fantasy
How long have you been writing?: On and off most of my life, but taking it seriously for the last year or two. What are your goals for joining the group? Any publishing plans?: I intend to be published traditionally, but I'm still working on my first manuscript. I have a long way to go and would love to be part of a community where I can help others as well as grow my own ability.
Do you agree to follow all of the rules stated in the rules forum?: yes
How did you find us? Did another member refer you? Yes I was referred by a member in another discord channel.
Tell us a little about yourself! Any non-writing interests or hobbies you'd care to share?: I focus a lot of my time mentally on writing, and most other time with my wife or playing video games. Big nerd, as expected for a fantasy author. Huge Sanderson fan, because I too enjoy the taste of food, plus many other authors. I consider myself rather well read in modern fantasy and slightly less so in older stuff. I'm slightly obsessed with Monster Hunter. I love geeking out over stuff.
Would you like to join the discord server as well? I would love to.
Thanks for your consideration!

Hi, welcome to the group! We're a little quiet right now, but things should pick up during the Winter Marathon in January. Feel free to start a discussion, though, either here or on the discord. I've approved your membership, so you should be able to see all of the boards now. I will also PM you a link to the discord to join.

Welcome, Justin! Excited for another fantasy nerd hoping for traditional publishing. I've been in your shoes. I'm still hoping to be published traditionally, and I've got my fingers crossed my third (current) manuscript will be the key that unlocks the door. Hope to see you in January, where I'll be running my polished ms through the grinder once again. I ran a previous version through the summer marathon and got TONS of invaluable advice and feedback, which led to a complete rewrite. If you are focused on improving your craft and willing to listen to and embrace feedback, there is no better place than this.
Best of luck, friend.
